This Saturday we will witness the first "El Clasico" of La Liga's season. FC Barcelona plays host (in Camp Nou) to their biggest rival, Real Madrid, on December 3rd at 10:15 AM EST. This game has major implications for the standings as first place Real Madrid (33 pts) leads second place, and reigning La Liga Champions, FC Barcelona (27 pts). A win for Madrid will create a larger gap between the competition, and a win for Barcelona will right the ship for what has been a sub-par season to FCB's standards. Although this game has a lot of meaning in terms of each team's chances at the top seed for La Liga this season, perhaps the history of this rivalry will add to that drama. To put it into perspective, imagine combining sport's greatest rivalries of Lakers-Celtics, Red Sox-Yankees, Cowboys-Giants, and Ali-Frazier into the world's most popular sport, soccer; The result is El Clasico. The 3 points that are obtained off a victory are up for grabs, and it's anyone's game.
All-Time History: Real Madrid has 93 wins in competitive matches against FC Barcelona.
FC Barcelona has 90 wins in competitive matches against Real Madrid.
In this post we examine the passion of El Clasico, and take on some predictions from Soccer Fans and their opinions on this massive match. I asked these fans to briefly give me their predictions for the match and to tell me what El Clasico signifies. ( To them, to sports, etc.)

"Clasico is special. It's like the 2 Goliath's of Spain going at it. It's Exciting! A log of emotions going into this game. A lot of trash talk which makes it that much more exhilarating!"
REAL MADRID V. BARCELONA
Predicted starting line up for Madrid:
Carvajal, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo (Defenders)
Modric, Kovacic, Casemiro (Midfielders)
Isco, Ronaldo, Benzema (Forwards)
My prediction for this up coming crucial Clasico on 03/12/16, I am going with a 3-2 win for my precious Merengues.
(BAR) Messi (Pen)
This would help Madrid continue to create space in the table leaving Barcelona 9 Pts behind in second place in La Liga standings. The Catalan [Barcelona] team has not had the best [of] games [over] the past couple of weeks - coming in with 2 consecutive draws. As For Los Blancos [Real Madrid], they have yet to lose a match this season and are coming in with 4 consecutive wins.
I have some worry that Madrid is missing several key players such as Gareth Bale, Alvaro Morata, and Toni Kroos due to injuries. While Barça will have their full squad, including the lethal trio of MSN. But as a HUGE Madrid fan I am optimistic that Madrid will bring home the 3 points to widen the gap in the table.

"People get fired up for a good game, no matter the sport. For those fans who have a passion for a particular sport, they know what it feels like to be completely engulfed in their team's history, pride, progress, and much more.
Their hometown team or their favorite team become the epicenter of every conversation, every argument, and every brag deserved after a big win. El Clasico is no exception to this beautiful and sometimes painful way for us sport fanatics.
As a lover of all sports, I think I speak for many people when I say we can all appreciate a good rivalry. Rivalries run deep and always leave a sour taste in our mouths. An unbelievably great match will be played on Saturday and it is a reminder of why we play and watch. El Clasico is a testament to love… love for the game and love for something much bigger than us as individuals.
Admirers of the most beautiful sport in the world will be looking on rooting for their club and some will leave happy but others will leave already counting down the days to the next match for revenge."
Who Will Win?
This is a tough match to predict and even tougher for me to say that I think Barcelona will have this match in the bag. With Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale out with an injury, I think Messi and Neymar will capitalize.
How they will win?
The best player in the world, Messi, along with the international superstar in Neymar, will carry the team to a 2 -1 victory, both goals coming in the first half. As far as Real Madrid goes, Ronaldo will do what he needs to do to compete with a goal early in the 2nd half but a late effort push to tie the game will prove to be unsuccessful.

"El clásico has played a big part of the culture of soccer for decades, not just In Spain but around the world, the level of competition between these two is unlike any other match in sports. Also one of the few matches that is looked forward to by just about any sports fan in the world. The game and energy is just inspiring and entertaining. It's a battle of the best. This game always brings me back to my childhood watching it, reminds me of how it always inspired me. They are all masterminds of their craft. I'm always drawn back to that time, it's cool to see how time and players have changed but the competition is still just as good."
benzema and Ronaldo will score
Neymar will score as well for Barca

"Clásico is the biggest game in football. It is also probably the biggest rivalry in sport because everyone in the world picks a side. It is meaningful to me because every year I get to witness Josh's heartbreak ."
