The NBA Finals match-up was FINALLY made official last night after the Cavaliers blew out the Celtics to close out the Eastern Conference Finals series. We all knew it was coming, it was no secret; it was just a matter of waiting 7 LONG months of watching 2 teams, playing in their own league, dominate the other 28 that thought they had a chance. In this post I will examine each team's top story line(s) and of course give you my prediction for what's set to be an epic end to the grueling NBA season.
The NBA regular season concludes this Wednesday and for most, the choice for who should win the MVP award is clear, for others not so much. This post is designed to discuss why each of the top 4 candidates deserve the award and perhaps aid you in your choice. Regardless of who you're rooting for, this tight battle for MVP is great for the game of basketball and the NBA. The MVP award will be announced on TNT on June 26th.
Christmas day for the NBA is what Thanksgiving day is for the NFL, full of the top teams, or at least the most fan favorite teams, going toe-to-toe on this glorious holiday. There are no other sports on this day but NBA Basketball, so all eyes are on the hardwood. This year we have 5 games, featuring the NBA's best all-stars and rising studs. The ten teams in play on December 25th, 2016 include the New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, San Antonio Spurs, Minnesota Timberwolves, Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers. Here are our predictions for this year's NBA on Christmas Day.
The NBA has a 24 second shot clock where the team on offense has that allotted amount of time, to attempt a shot before turning the ball over to the opposing team. In this case, I'm giving 24 brief thoughts about the first month or so in the NBA, not necessarily in 24 seconds.

Aside from your typical awards - MVPs, DPOY (Defensive Player of The Year), ROY (Rookie of the Year) - The NBA also awards the best players in the league every season, at the end of the season, by creating these "All-NBA" Teams. There are three teams, All NBA 1st, 2nd, and 3rd teams each with a "Starting 5", if you will, depicting the best players in that respective season. The All-NBA 1st team being the highest honor and the NBA's model players. Here are my predictions for the All-NBA 1st team with a brief description of each player. At the bottom of the post you'll see a list of my predictions of the 2nd and 3rd team.
ALL NBA 1st Team
F Kawhi Leonard, San Antonio Spurs
Kawhi Leonard is the reigning 2 time Defensive Player of the year and is already showing signs of exploding in his first two games of the season. Exploding with 65 points and 10 steals through the first 2 games.
It's way too early to have any certainty on what exactly will go down this season, let alone in the post season. Yet having seen the Preseason results and Team's final roster cuts, it's fun to come up with predictions. On paper, here's what I think will happen come May/June 2017.
Eastern Conference Finals Matchup
The Cleveland Cavaliers are expected to make it all the way to the Finals, so to have them here should come as no surprise. As for the latter team, it's kind of a toss up on who can make it. It may be a bit of a reach but I really like this Boston Celtics roster, they're well rounded defensively and balanced offensively. Not to mention, Head Coach Brad Stevens has brought out the best of this team. If this truly turns out to be the Eastern Conference Finals match-up, I have the Cavs winning the series in 6.
Projecting the top 8 teams in the NBA's Western Conference for the upcoming 2016-2017 season.
1. Golden State Warriors (68-14)
