It's way too early to have any certainty on what exactly will go down this season, let alone in the post season. Yet having seen the Preseason results and Team's final roster cuts, it's fun to come up with predictions. On paper, here's what I think will happen come May/June 2017.
Eastern Conference Finals Matchup
The Cleveland Cavaliers are expected to make it all the way to the Finals, so to have them here should come as no surprise. As for the latter team, it's kind of a toss up on who can make it. It may be a bit of a reach but I really like this Boston Celtics roster, they're well rounded defensively and balanced offensively. Not to mention, Head Coach Brad Stevens has brought out the best of this team. If this truly turns out to be the Eastern Conference Finals match-up, I have the Cavs winning the series in 6.
Western Conference Finals Matchup
Unless there is some catastrophic meltdown (Chemistry issues, injuries, etc.) in Warrior Land, I don't see how the Warriors don't make it to at least here. As for the Clippers, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt over the Spurs, simply because I think their big 3 are in for a big season. Blake Griffin and Chris Paul both have expiring contracts and either want to show out to maximize all their options come free agency, and/or to give it one last try together to make it count. Mind you, Chris Paul nor the Clippers Franchise have never made it to the Conference Finals. If this series does turn out to be GSW v. LAC, I think the Warriors will edge the Clips in 6 games.
The NBA Finals
These two teams will meet for the third straight time in the NBA Finals, further brewing the rivalry. It'll be LeBron's 7th straight final appearance, Kevin Durant's 2nd final appearance of his career, and legendary status on the line for both of these illustrious careers. There's no debate LeBron turns a different gear in the Post-Season and even more in the finals, so it's hard to bet against him. However the Warriors, on paper have the best overall team, with the last three MVPs, it may be too much for LeBron and the reigning champs. Warriors in 7, KD finals MVP.
